A little over a year ago, individuals from across the world showed their support for Multilingual Europe by signing an Open Letter to the European Commission, proclaiming that "Europe's Digital Single Market must be multilingual!" Overall, the letter gathered more than 3 600 signatures and sent waves through the European Commission, spurring policymakers to action. Since that time, much has taken place to further the language community's call for a multilingual Digital Single Market.

A new market survey by Common Sense Advisory (CSA) on "Europe's Leading Role in Machine Translation" reports that Tilde MT is among a "new breed of hosted MT providers" that has successfully "simplified access for small language companies [to MT] and enabled them to use it."

The new Prime Minister of Latvia, Māris Kučinskis, was introduced to Tilde's work in language technologies during a meeting with IT industry leaders. At the event, on July 20 at the IT Demo Centre in Riga, Tilde CEO Andrejs Vasiļjevs presented Tilde's work in machine translation, speech recognition, and proofreading tools.
